Trim/Gasket Driver's slide

Per photo below I need to reattached/reposition a majority of the gasket on the top of the front driver side slide. Don't want to use the snotty stuff (3M I believe) as tried it on a portion and very messy. Thinking of double sided tape. Anyone have a recommendation as to a good tape to use?

I also was wondering how, if I needed to, would I remove the wood trim on the top of slide. There are no wood buttons to remove in the wood trim to access screws holding the trim. Only thing I see are some clips on the top of the wood trim attached to the metal trim of the slide. Suggestions or info from someone who has done this before?

Sorry photo's upside down.

I am having the shop reattach the same gasket on mine. As for removing the wood trim, remove that detailed profile molding and there are 5 or 6 screws underneath it. That molding is attached with fine pin nails

I've used contact cement for the weather strip. Apply to both sides and let dry. Push together. I did some 4-5 years ago and never had an issue.

Try some outdoor 2 sided carpet tape. Very sticky. And it says it's permanent. I think "Lowes Depot" has it.

Bill: Want to stay away from glue, the 3M stuff worked similar to what you described and there just isn't enough room for me to get my hands in to apply the glue, let dry and reattach without getting it on everything.

I'll ck out the outdoor carpet tape. Thinking this might be easier to apply than glues.

Captjake1: Do you know how the shop plans to reattach your gasket, glue or tape and are they planning to remove the wood trim to do it? If you get any pictures of them doing it please share as I'm nervous about trying to remove the wood trim. My gasket from the factory was installed incorrectly. They attached it to the top edge of the wood trim and it should have been attached to top metal edge of the slide. Passenger side was done right but they screwed up on the drivers side.

I don't know how they intend upon re-attaching it. I was sending it to them for other work when I noticed it loose. Just like you,m I don't want to get glue, or the wrong compound on it and make a mess. Since they have it anyway, I am letting them do it. that thing has sideways pressure on it when the slide settles down level. The shearing action wants to pull it of no matter how it is attached.
Removing the wood (if I recall) won't gain much space to work anyway.

My coach is in between two shops right now. Not sure if they even have that item fixed yet. I will inquire in the next week or so for you.

The shop recommended a polyurethane adhesive. Like windshield adhesive. They use a lot of Sikaflex
