TV power. Stranger than fiction
Hi folks. I'm back with another question. I have been having trouble with my living room television, rear set is fine. It won't load Direct tv, just starting 2 weeks ago. I had Direct TV out yesterday and they did some trouble shooting, telling me the feed from the tv to the box is sending voltage back to the direct tv box and interfering with the boxes ability to receive signal from the dish. Is this even possible ?
Thanks for any help you can render.

Yes. If the cable input your using , runs through an antenna signal booster and it's turned on .
I had to run new coax through my coach to avoid this issue.

The cable only goes to the Direct TV box from the dish. The electrical current is running backwards from the tv to the direct tv box, about 17 volts.

Is there any possibility of changing the 75ohm cable connection to an HDMI? What model DTV receiver do you have?

The receiver is a D-10 and does not accept HDMI cable. The shock not only comes from the coax, but also from the red white and green inputs.
They are sending me a new H-4 box and I'll update you then.
Thanks for all your replies.

Given that the issue is , voltage from the TV feeding into the cable , I'd suspect that the TV has issues and not the box.
That being said , I hope the new box solves your problem.

I suggest the following:
Run an extension cord in from a known stable source (your house) and power the TV from that. Then test the coax and/or component (red, white, green) off the TV with a Volt/Ohmmeter to see if there is still voltage. It is possible that the outlet in the RV may have some kind of ground isolation fault that is allowing juice to 'feed back' from the TV. If the stable A/C source solves the problem, there is most likely an issue with the RV outlet and/or wiring. At that point you need an electrician to address the issue. An inexpensive 'outlet tester' plug can also be used to test the polarity/ground status in the RV's outlets.
