My Magnadyne wouldn't retain any settings, the clock was just one on them. I checked all the wiring to make sure it had power but nothing worked. Just one of the many reasons to replace it.

I had thought my 08 knight was setup the same as most other monaco coaches...
That is, a magnadyne radio, and a full coach surround sound system. and a switch in the overhead that either pumped the magnadyne, OR the surround sound system through the surround sound speakers?

It also had a pair of speakers in the bedroom that always played the radio.

If the kids were watching TV, the only place we could hear the magnadyne was in the bedroom!

The very first mod I did to this coach was install a pair of speakers in the overhead cabinets, pointing straight down the windshield. we connected them to the magnadyne "bedroom speaker" outputs.

Works good. my kids can keep watching movies as we travel down the road, and I can hear my satellite radio.
and i can still hit the switch and pump the magnadyne through the main coach speakers if i want too.

This set off a cascade to get the best new head unit I could find (I had already replaced the ancient generic one) and add some cool features. I already had GPS so it was other features i wanted. Mostly needed a way to connect the entertainment components to the BACK of the dash unit. Ended up getting Bluetooth, weather, HD radio, XM, etc. in the bargain!

Rich, I sent you a few private messages on IRV2 and I don't know if you are receiving them, or have seen them. It is about meeting up late Oct.

The Magnadyne is actually suppose to be a good radio. The model that came in my year coach had a bad power coinnection on the back that made it skip. It wasn't until years later that someone posted a fix.
