Valve stem extenders.
Has anyone else had problems with the braided stainless steel valve stem extenders. I’ve lost all air from two tires over night in the past two years. They seem to develop o-ring seal problems over the years. They look nice and are convenient if you use TPM sensors, but it’s not worth the hassle.

I would be interested in knowing who manufactures inner dually value stems that would have not only the proper additional length but also the correct angle in order to come through the outer wheel. Thanks

No magic bullet on valve stems
I have under 4K miles on the factory Michelin's with valve stem extensions that just poke through the outside wheel. Patio side inner went down and upon inspection the last half inch of inner valve stem was torn off. Tire guy said I must have hit some road debris, and it took out the extension and my tpms sensor at the same time. Repaired with a new valve stem, and 10 miles later the tire side wall blew out. Apparently tire guy did not see the damage to side wall from the original debris hit. $500 plus dollar Hankook replacement and I was back on the road. Waiting on delivery on Cats eye system, as I had 20k miles on my last RV with stainless braided extensions and never had an issue. That was my week. Your mileage may vary.

I had 2 braided lines leaked at "O" rings in 2 years. A tire shop told me about yourtireshopsupply.com they sell bendable valves for inside tires with stabilizers for the outer rim. Just plug in your info and there tell what kit you need.

An honest tire shop will tell you the truth about these extenders; they're junk. I had three fail on the last trip. I took ALL of them off. A pain without them, you bet, but so is a flat tire. They are junk. It's a rubber hose with cheap Schrader valves. There are solid extenders out there. That stainless braiding looks nice, but it doesn't hold air pressure.

My coach had braided extensions when I bought it. Three years later, when I replaced the tires, I replaced those with DuallyValve solid extensions. Link is here:

I called them to make sure I ordered the correct kits. The saleswoman knew her product and was pleasant and unhurried over the phone.

Wow - $140 for those. At least the saleswomen was pleasant taking your money. Then you take Coach to a tire shop top have them installed. So probably $250 by the time you're all done.

I had the same problems with the braided valve stem extensions.
I also went to your tire shop supply.
I called them and ordered the 2 extenders I needed and as I recall, I paid in the neighborhood of $125.00 for both.
I wish I had done it years ago !! So simple to check the tire pressures and no leaks !!

I've never had problems with the braided stainless valve stem extenders on three different motorhomes. Guess I've been lucky.

I had several valve stem problems. Then, I decided to order the dually kit and I'm so glad I did. Yes...pricey...but they work.

I also had issues with the braided steel valve stem extenders. My brother warned me and I stayed with them until the second flat tire.
I've been using the "Your tire Shop" extenders for almost 20 years now without issue. A good time to install them is when you are installing new tires anyway.

I also got the extenders from Your-Tire-Shop a year or so back. They do have the kits with a rubber bung which fits the Monaco-style "d-shape" handholes. (see picture in post by CountryB above)
