Wacko Products

I would like to hear from someone who has installed one of the Wackoproducts AC silencer on a Dometic Penquin unit.. I am considering one for our living room area.. Branson in July is really hot and would like to run the front ac at night. PM me or 04rambler@gmail.com.

I installed the Wacko noise reducers on both my A/C units. They reduced the noise level by 6 db! I am very pleased with them! I have the Dometic Penguin II high-capacity heat pumps.

I installed two on my Coleman Mach series ACs. Expensive, but I can hear TV now. I never had the "dump" feature, so I didn't miss it.

56db is VERY low noise! Are you sure your meter is accurate?

I spent a good amount of time and money building my own long before the Wacko's came out.

I now have two of the Wacko's just based on looks and the fact that they have a great filter design.

A tremendous amount of thought and designing went into those things. I sure would like to know where he gets them made. I have a few other things that need to be made.

Just looked at the Wacko web site and could not see any reference to a dump feature. What exactly is this?
Thank you.

Thank you.

The dump feature is on the ceiling vent IF you have the dump system. You slide a vent that allows air to drop directly into the rv versus going through the ceiling registers,

Well the Wacko came today.. I installed it this afternoon on the front AC. No difference in decibels. but it is a more muffled noise. One of our rv friends was over and checked it out as I installed it.. He thought the sound was more muffled and from the bedroom it was quieter. I think the wife can sleep with it running.

Lot of money, but worth it to me. By my sound meter, went from 70 db to 65 db, a very noticeable improvement. If you wait 10 years and it comes off patent, maybe $50

A slight improvement but would be nearly impossible for them to implement would be to have the intake opening on one of the edges opposite the area where you would like it quietest.

I built my own previously to these and just having the intake away from you helps another db or two.

I might tweak an add on for this cover but these are so nice maybe not.

Did you have springs under the 4 bolts that hold the AC to the roof? If you do remove the springs they will be in the way for the Silencer to fit tight to the ceiling. I called WackO and it works
