No springs that I have ever seen. Fits tight to the ceiling.

Be sure that you installed it with the Wacko grill opening on the opposite side from the return air duct up into the A/C unit!

My rv friends that are visiting said he thought about that last night at their rig.. when he came over we double checked and we did install the cover backwards.. We are getting older you know.. So we switched it around.. it touches the ceiling all the way around and the sound came down 2 decibels. It helps even more if you put the slides out. only have 30 decibels in the bedroom coming from the front AC.. I think the wife can sleep with that. Headed out tomorrow for 2 weeks.
