"Wait to Start" light on Cummins C8.3 blinking after starting engine

In very warm weather, after waiting nearly a minute for the "Wait to Start" light to go off, I start the engine and very soon after the engine starts as it normally does; the "Wait to Start" lights starts blinking.

This is on a 1998 Monaco Windsor with a Cummins C8.3 300hp engine.

Does it eventually quit blinking or continue while you drive?

The " Wait to Start Light " and the intake manifold grid heater , are controlled by an intake manifold temp sensor , and if you're getting the , light on when the air, or overnight engine , temp is above 65f , I'd think that sensor is failing.

It has not during the 20 or 30 minutes that I've run the engine at idle.

I will run it longer.

Do you suspect something?

Do you know where the intake manifold temperature sensor is located on the Cummins C8.3?

Not really too clear in this diagram , I'll see if I can find a better one.

EDIT: I guess before I start digging , I should confirm what fuel injection system your engine has , the "P" series inline pump ( 12 valve engine) photo one , or the CAPS system ( 24 valve) photo two . Pictures below

I've been pack ratted. I found the sensor and also found all the insulation leading up to the sensor has been removed by a pack rat. I should have known.

Thanks for the replies. I could not have solved this without them.
