Wallpaper

Has anyone successful painted over their wallpaper. The wife hates it and every option we try the texture and glossy parts show.

Would really not want to skim coat the walls but looking like my last resort.

Have also tried removing it but they used very good hight quality paper and glue it looks like.

If anyone is wondering what we ended up doing is taking the wallpaper off, sanding, priming and painting.

The wall paper cam off very easy did not expect that.

My rig's a 1993. So, it's 27 years old. And, yes, textured with the inlay. Some parts peel right off, others seem to have made themselves part of the underlying panel. Have been considering just roughing up the 2/3 that's left and covering it with several primer/filler coats, but my paint experience screams "not the right way!"

Only other option I can think of is a wallpaper steamer we where almost at that point. Good news is if you have to rent one will not take long

On our ole Toyhouse (21ft micro-mini Toyota), we first painted the wallpaper with Kilz primer. We then painted with regular satin finish wall paint.

The existing wallpaper is probably self adhesive rather than pasted paper. If it is, steam won't help. Try a hair dryer and a plastic scraper. Another option, if you're good at papering, is casing paper, a white, smooth wallpaper that will cover minor imperfections and textures, and give you a paintable surface.
