Warning Light Fault Code?
Hello folks. I have a 2003 ISL 8.8 370HP Cummins and I got a warning light. So went to do the dash flash code reading and the dash is giving me a code 539. I believe it relates to the transient suppressor. But when I called Cummins they wanted a cummins code not the one I gave them to be sure what the fault it. Anybody experience this code?

OK,
I went into my Cummins Quickserve account and used the fault code search function and it provided me with the attached info. You need to enter your engine SN once you create an account to check to see if the info is the same for your engine!
If you don't have a Quickserve account I'd suggest you create an account and register your engine SN.
The Fault Code Serach is under the Service tab at the top and then it will be listed in the grouping at the top of that page.
If you look at the attached there is a link at the bottom, which will provide a step by step trouble shooting guide which also has multiple links within that document. The only way to get access to all the info is to join Quickserve. https://quickserve.cummins.com/qs3/p...ice/index.html

Thanks so much. I logged into Cummins and found the fault was the Transient suppressor.

“… when I called Cummins they wanted a cummins code not the one I gave them to be sure what the fault…”
Maybe you should offer to set up a QSOL account for Cummins so they can look up fault codes! Maybe this is why Cummins has to charge so much for repairs…

I’m new to using this forum, so apologies for any gafs, Intermittently over past 10 months I’m getting “warning” light on dash of 2004 Monaco Windsor 40PST with ISL400. “Rebooting” by shutting down and waiting, and twice throwing master chassis main cut off switch has cleared code. I do not know how to find dash code as you have referenced. The code may come on/off multiple times during a 3hr trip. Thanks, I’m prepping for a 6 week pacific coast trip end of the month

I bought a Silerleaf VMSpc for my coach ~10 years ago. It's a great tool as it give you real time information on your engine and transmission while running down the road. I have a small tablet that I use to display the info.
It also does provide fault codes.
There are other types of monitoring system, Bluefire and Scangauge are also frequently mentioned on these forums.
My rig doesn't move until the Silverleaf is displaying the information.

Have you changed your fuel filters?? Those things can drive you crazy.

Had the same intermittent warning light coming back from Glacier NP. New to us at the time 2002 Diplomat, Cummins 8.3L. The "hidden" fuel filter behind the A/C condenser was plugged up. I assume it was the original factory filter based on the appearance. Now i carry 1 of each fuel filter.
Had an issue with wire harness at the injector pump as well. One wire was intermittently shorting after the insulation was worn through. Another wire in the same connector wasn't crimped correctly. Tech said nothing looked like it had been touched. Probably been that way since new.
