Water pressures after Sanitizing
Hi folks,
Sanitized the water system in our 2004 Windsor a few weeks ago and the pressure on the cold water side only fades after a few seconds whether pump is on or pump off on city water at campground. Never had this problem before after sanitizing and double checked the inside valves on the system. Annoying also for the low flow of the toilet water system.
Anyone have this problem before?
Thank you all
Tracy

Do you suppose your water filter could be plugged?

Are both hot and cold on the outside shower firmly closed? I've read that one, or both, of those left open can cause some curious water pressure issues.
Just a guess.
Take care,
Stu

Both are closed and same issues with cold water at outdoor shower faucet. A little concerned that this issue could harm the water pump.
Checked the water manifold under the coach as I had turned the hot water bypass near heater but it’s in the original position. I’m also thinking about a vacuum leak in the system but don’t have it nailed down as of yet.

Check the fresh water fill valve. You may be bypassing back to the tank.
Also, if you have a pressure regulator check it for obstructions. I had exactly the same issue and the regulator had stuff in it.

Thank you Vito,
It may be one of these issues
I’m guessing right now that it’s as simple as debris in the pressure regulator.
I’ll check it out when we get back to the coach as we put it in storage.

I also had an in-line pressure regulator that was bad - almost no pressure. It wasn't very old, but I had a spare - swapped them and no further problems.

You stated:
pressure on the cold water side only fades after a few seconds whether pump is on or pump off on city water at campground.
Cold water fades......pump/city water so has to be AFTER the city water inlet check valve AND pump discharge
Only common thing would be FILL valve being open.....pump would 'round robin' (suck up water from fresh water tank/discharge back to fresh water tank.....can't build pressure to feed rest of system) and city water would go to fresh water tank and not fed RV plumbing system
**Hot water flow should be affected also.
Regulator would affect City Water Only.....not pump discharge

This is true ^^^ - from the symptoms stated by OP, I agree probably fill valve (fill valve check valve) issue.
Sorry for the "pressure regulator" being the issue in my earlier post - probably not.

Old Biscuit and Carnac,
I have replaced that a few years back so I can do it again
I wondered if that would have an effect?
Check valve must be staying open?
Not allowing pressure to build
Hot water may not be affected as much because it comes from the hot water tank?
That was a thought that I had at the time…

Hot water comes from tank WHICH is fed from the COLD water system
Fill Valve.....not a check valve but a Valve that allows flow from city water to fresh water tank
It can be a Diverter Type Valve (ported) that in one position water flow into the RV Cold water System....turn the valve handle and it allows flow to fresh water tank
Valve could be allowing flow thru BOTH (City Water & Fresh water Tank).......valve handle could be slipping and not turning valve stem completely so valve is only partially moving

Old Biscuit,
The valve seemed to work for filling the tank or city water delivery.
I can confirm this again but I didn’t see this being a problem
Never fun troubleshooting a system while trying to enjoy a much needed break.
I like the way you have explained it!
Thank you!
