Water Pump Light

Inside the coach there are two spots to turn on the water pump and when you do a red light illuminates.

In the basement there is another switch for the water pump with a red light. However I cannot get the red light to turn off. When I turn the water pump on in the basement you here the pump come on and prime.

The water pump is not on. Is this light on for another reason.

Thanks,

Troy

Mine is similar, only with green lights. Light in mine lets me know power to the pump is on and it is waiting on water to be turned on before engaging the pump to provide pressure.

The switches just turn on the power to the pump. The pump has a built in pressure switch that then turns on the pump when there is a demand for water and turns the pump off when that demand is met. The lamps tell you that the power to the pump is on and as soon as there is a demand for water the pump will turn on.

Troy.....It's weird that it's staying on. When you turn the switch on it momentarilly shorts to ground to turn the Intellitec pump controller on. The light is wired across with power to keep it lit. I would unscrew the small switchlight panel and check that the wires aren't touching on the back. If yours is built into the larger panel, just pop the light out and make sure it's not shorted to anything. Pull the wire terminals off the back and then push pack on and see if you solve your issue.

My motorhome is a little older so I don't know if mine works the same. When I push the water pump switch the light comes on and that means my water pump will run if water is needed. When I push the switch again the light goes out and the water pump is off.

I had a light burn out in one of my interior pump switches. Replaced it with an LED and resistor.

I found out from Monaco the light is on by design to let you know the system is ready for use. So I am good to go...

Every RV I have ever owned or been in is the same way. It's just to let you know the pump is turned on/off. With 3-way switches, that is the only way to know if it is on/off. If you want to go for a walk and want to turn the pump off, you turn flip any switch so the light is off. Light off - pump off.

Troy, when that light is on in the basement switch, the lights in the other 2 switches should be on as well. Any one of those 3 switches should be able to turn the lights (and pump) on or off with a single push?

Your first note has me baffled, not sure what the issue might be. Are you saying that when you push in on THAT switch, the light stays on, and the rest will turn the light/pump on or off? Sorry, kinda hot out today, might be easily confused...
