Water tank 2007 Cayman XL

How do you know when your water tank is full. Don't really trust gauge and I want to be sure I have maximum amount on board. Is there an overflow I should be able to see when it is full? Thanks

There is a vent/overfill tube and you will see it run out, if your filling with the hose in the tank it will run out of the hole also

If you can "see" your tank that is another way. deSanford

I can look under my utility panel and see the tank. When I need it completely full, I watch as I fill the tank.

***Personally, I would never fill the tank until it runs out the overflow for two reasons. If the overflow were to get clogged (unlikely, but could occur) you could expand the tank and do damage. The second reason is that you can fill water faster into the tank than it can flow out of the overflow, again over expanding the tank. On most of the coaches, the grey and black tanks are sitting atop the water tank. It's just too easy to be filling the tank and walk away for a moment expecting the overflow to work and then do damage.

I just fill mine.... usually quite by accident, flip the shore water valve to"tank fill" and the next thing I know, DH is wondering why water is pouring out of the passenger side of the coach! ooops!

If I actually pay attention, water will start coming out the vent on the gravity fill valve when it is just full.

Or I use the gravity fill valve, and leave the hose on till it won't fill no mo!

on my 08 Cayman the overflow tube is in the front of the wheel well of the rear passenger side tire. I watch for it to start to drip and then I know tanks are full
