Water Temp sensor Problem

94 Monaco Executive, 300 Cummins 8.3, water temp gage reads from 0 to pegged out at any given time, sending unit is located on a block attached to front eng bulk head (seem like a direct engine mount would make more sense) sending unit has 2 output tabs, one goes to temp gage on dash,
I have no idea what other one goes to (it's not a ground for the unit) also there is a similar type unit mounted next to it. anyone out there have any idea what the 2nd tab coming off sending unit feeds to or what the single pole unit feeds to?

The other terminal may be for a dash warning (overheat) alarm. I'm not sure. You could try grounding the wire and see what happens at the dash.

Thanks for your reply, I'm thinking it must be for some type warning/alarm too, but no bells, whistles or Light when it is grounded out. Only light I have is "Coolant" which comes on when coolant drops low in tank. will do some more trouble shooting.

have you tried cleaning the connections? They are know to have problems when they get a little corrosion.

Tried that at the very beginning, with no luck, ordered new Temp gage and sending unit, NAPA was able to get both with next day service, problem turned out to be a bad Temp gage. Still don't know what the single pole Sending Unit sends signal to. Thanks for all replies.
