A couple of questions on external maintenance. First, how often do you wax the entire coach? It's not a trivial undertakiing, not like spending an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon waxing the family sedan. For my 36' Endeavor its easily an 8-10 hour project, often more.

And the second question is what do you do in between full details? I can squirt the coach down to get the road dust off, but to dry it entails moving a latter around - a lot, and when in camp sites often on uneven surfaces. And tap water is invariably hard and leaves spots. A chamois helps but is a ton of work and chamois' are famous for stripping wax off anyhow.

What tricks or magic products have you ran into/learned that help you to keep your RV looking decent without spending half of every vacation detailing the damn thing?

I just bought a waterless cleaning system. It's called Aerowash. No ladders just spray, wipe and wipe off. You can do wines with it also. It makes the surface very slick, dust doesn't attach as easily

Waxing is exactly what I was doing today,5 hours got me 1/2 way thru.I do prefer paste wax and a buffer so last wax was 8 months ago.

Red max pro # 3. great way to wax vehicle. Lots of info on here, and boy, it lasts.

Do your waxing on a schedule. Monday do the front. Wednesday curb side. Friday street side. Saturday back. Do that about every three months and it will shine year round.

"wines"? You mean I can drink the stuff! :-) OK, just kidding. Is that a typo or a term I'm not familiar with?

Thanks for the info Davdeb1. Did a quick scan of the old Red Pro threads and it looks like it is geared more toward restoring badly oxidized coaches than maintaining newer ones. Plus it looks like you need 5,6,7 maybe EIGHT coats of the stuff? And that's after a thrilling prep job? Yikes!

My Endeavor is older ('96) but it has fairly new full body paint over glass that's in great shape (previous owner always garaged and liked waxing more than I do :-). Since I'm hoping to keep it clean and shiny more than make it clean and shiny is the Red Pro still something you recommend I be looking at?

I've got a 2000 holiday rambler, I put on five coats, and was certainly much easier than trying to use a paste or rub on wax.
Less time, and if your MH is in as good shape as you say, just a good wash with krud cutter and then another wash with dawn is all the prep you need.

If you want to be a believer, just do one basement door with it, 5 coats, you'll be sold. If you are interested in doing it, I found a much faster easier way after some trial and error.

I think I just ran into your "much faster easier way" on another recent thread. A Swifter head with microfiber and a spray bottle? Seems to make sense to me.

Is this still an annual (or more often) treatment and do you put 5-coats on each time?

No, the annual touch is supposed to be one coat, depending on where I've been, I may do 2. If you are in reasonable shape you can put on a coat in 1/12 to 2 hours.

I haven't used the Aerowash system yet, haven't got it dirty enough.

We do once a year full wax with RejeX (super easy to use and really nice finish) and in-between touch ups with regular good old Walmart-bought Protect All. We fulltime and boondock often soon our coach gets plenty dirty and this routine has kept it looking pretty good.
