Total weights or axles weights do not tell the story. Find an Escapees Smart Weigh program near you and have each wheel weighed. So very very often total mass er weights are "allegedly within range" however, one particular wheel may be horribly over the limits that will cause tire and bearing failures.

We no wan dat mi friend as we used to say in Belize. Most RV are reported to grossly over weight and mechanical failures due to over loading a given wheel. Apparently 5th Wheels are the most over weight on the road and have more failures as a result.

My $.02 worth... well if I still lived in Belize that woudl only be U.S. $.01
and that is clearly stated per my owners manual as shown in my post #8 seen here.

Im by far no expert, with that said corner weights are VIP and for may reasons just ask any racer.

And yes as pointed out by others here knowing your axle weights is certainly far better than not knowing at all.

Happy Trails

This post reminds me of the Bluebird lawsuit re being overweight. The last BB units made were grossly overweight. Apparently there was an accident and someone died. BB immediately contacted the owners and told them to not drive the units and BB would supply new larger front tires to be installed on location. Then they decided to move the genset from the front to a compartment on the side. Then one owner sued BB. Parts of the court case were posted online. At one point a BB Engineer was asked about the weight problem. He answered that BB is not responsible for a unit being over weight due to the owner carrying his personal ANVIL collection. I imagine the court room was filled with laughter. But this does illustrate that what you carry and where it is placed affects your weight distribution. Those Bluebird coaches are gorgeous. As nice as a marathon. But not on a Prevost chassis. There are a lot of installed items that can make a coach overweight. Heavy countertops and of course tile or marble floors. Mfrs. should be pressuring Freightliner and Spartan to build chassis that can take the weight. Or maybe the RV mfr. does not want to spend the extra $$ for a suitable chassis.
