Wet bay hose reel

2007 Dynasty .. When I turn a faucet on inside my coach the hose reel in my wet bay leaks water. A service tech told me I need to put a cap or water pressure regulator on the hose. Is this normal?

My guess is no,

My guess is that there may be a check valve not working.

I don't have a check valve but on my fresh water fill circuit there is a check valve that prevents the water from coming out the connection point when not hooked up. I had to replace mine, I did use a garden hose type shutoff valve until I could find time the fix it.

My guess is the check valve would be somewhere between the hose reel and where it connects to the plumbing prior to the pump.

My check valve is easily located right between the hose reel and the water pump, ours is a cheap gray plastic valve. I haven't replaced it with a brass valve as I carry half a dozen extra check valves with me and can replace one in about 3 minutes with no tools required.
