Monaco Coach

Don't know if this is the one your looking for.

Monaco Coach has a cure for wanderlust. The company is a top maker of diesel-powered motorhomes and a leading manufacturer of motorized and towable recreational vehicles for those seeking the comforts of road travel. They are marketed under such brands as Beaver, Holiday Rambler, McKenzie, Monaco Coach, and R-Vision. Monaco Coach's products are distributed across North America through a network of more than 700 motorhome and towable RV dealers. The company filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in early 2009, and in June Navistar International purchased Monaco's RV manufacturing business for approximately $47 million.

I called parts a couple of days ago to order something and in the course of the conversation the person I was talking to said they are back in production. For those who did not know, parts is back up and running and I am not sure that tech assistance was ever down since I talked with them before the Chapter 11 deal was closed.

Many of us who actually own a Monaco coach are not to happy being tossed to the curb and under the bus....kinda like leaving soldiers on the field of battle..... Loyality/Trust cuts both ways...and when you don't stand by your Market brand, you have no brand....
So, since both former top of the line market brands Monaco and Roadmaster chassis are toast and sold off everything including the best assets and market positions during the RV firesale, what next?...Maybe they now focus on the next new wave of diesel powered natural gas retrofits ... wait a minute the fall-back position is still weak. Dang credibility is shot.... other than that looking great!....Trust means everything.....everything...not sure the brand can short term and recover customer loyality/trust....

I believe that it is a question of integrity and honor. I believe by purchasing assets and identified liabilities only, they have shown the lack of integrity and honor to deserve any future business.

Many will say, "that's life" or "it's just business", well, I say it's not. Fleetwood's bankruptcy sale did not leave their loyal customers to blow in the wind. They showed the class that Monaco LLC lacks.

If Monaco LLC lacks integrity, honor and class now, do you really think that it will change in the future? These traits are a corporate culture that's not to my liking.

I will look elsewhere for a new coach when the time comes.

The Monaco name is meaningless now. I hope new RV buyers will understand this , and realize that the new Monaco is looking for a free ride on the wings of a once proud manufacture. They don't care about past owners, and I don't think they will blink an eye when the going gets rough to dump the new owners.

Fleetwood on the other hand, does care about past owners and is standing behind them.

I'm not sure I would say they don't care at all about past owners. Read my new post of today on Monaco Owner's Advantage.

Information from a Monaco International Rally

Hi everyone...I do know other Monaco folks who do not do forums - and one has sent me this update...

"As promised here is a bulletized update from the Springfield rally.
Mike Snell, Navistar person, Pat Carroll, Paige, and the head service person (not April) showed up.
Navistar bought no Liability - why your warranty is no good.
Monaco is only looking to support one club - it will be Monaco International.
The by-laws were amended to include all Monaco RV coach products - HR, Beaver, Safari.
MI rally in Tucson in the Spring and Salem in the Summer will be open to all Monaco RV Coach products.
Parts trailer will also be there, no word on techs yet but a pay per proposal was suggested.
Safari will no longer be made; Beaver will be special order only (no dealers). Executive has been dropped from the lineup, more may follow.
There are only 6 Monaco dealers across the country, down from over 350. No word on HR.
Dealers, suppliers, customers, and shareholders were all screwed by Monaco. They are all upset with them, they are trying to rebuild.
700 of the 7000 employees have been hired back. Tech Support was the first to come back to assist us over the phone.
There will only be two small service centers opened, one at the plant in Coburg and one at the plant in Wakarusa.
Coburg will make diesel and towables, and Wakarusa will make gas and towables.
Coburg will produce 1 coach per day; Wakarusa will do 3 a day - gas market wasn't hit as hard.
2 Executives and 1 Camelot was sold at the rally.
About 170 coaches attended, caravan to FMCA was 42. FMCA is about 2000 coaches. HR had 28 at their rally."

"Scott is trying to open the Wildwood Service Center, he wants to be an authorized Monaco SC ...."

"Navistar talked about some of their plans for Monaco RV: better QA, motorhome service at their truck service centers, start to include their engine in the coaches.

No timeframe on most things and I am sure there will be more to come later."

(Was anyone else at the rally in Springfield, Ohio...and who knew about it??)

These are my own opinions and have nothing to do with iRV2, Monaco or any other entity....

I do want to ask what we owners expect...I see many of us complaining about "being tossed under the bus" ...but I am out of factory warranty and I know that they owe me nothing. There are also some of us who bought our coaches even though Monaco was out of business. The only ones of us who have any reason to complain are those who bought in "good faith" that Monaco would be there.

Am I sorry that Monaco Coach Corp. went out of business? Absolutely, YES! Will complaining help? Nope ...all I can say is I wish Monaco RV, LLC. all the best and much success as they move forward.

ok...I will step down off my soap box now...

Well said. The best thing that can happen to all of us who own old Monaco products is for the the new company to be wildly successful.
