> What wire for brake signal? '01 Holiday Rambler Ambassador

I'm attempting to install a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller in a 2001 Holiday Rambler Ambassador (with air over hydraulic brakes), but can't figure out what wire to get the brake signal from.........anybody know?

I found this thread, which was close, but not quite!!

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/help...h-63054-2.html

I called Monaco and the tech there told me I just needed to tap into the brake wire in the front left compartment from Monaco Box 2. I told him I don't have a "Monaco 2" there, only a "Monaco 3" and nothing labeled for the brakes. He said "Oh, I'll have to look it up then and I'll e-mail you the info." I guess that was his way to get rid of me, as it's been over a week and I still haven't heard back from him, or gotten a response to the general e-mail I sent Monaco asking the same question!

I had posted this same question on another forum and received a very accurate answer and was able to find the wire I needed. I figured I'd copy/paste the answer here so if anybody else had the same question in the future they may be able to find the info!

I have a 2000 Ambassador. In the left-front compartment I have a "Monaco #3" box and as you say, there is no mention of brakes. However, on mine, in the same compartment mounted on the rear wall is a fuse block and 2 relays. One of the relays is a brake relay and the other is a purge relay(operates the purge solenoid on the bottom of the air tank when the brake pedal is depressed). I do not know which relay is the brake relay but if you can look at the wires in the cable bundle going to the relays, the wires will be labeled.
If you need a ground level signal (when the brake pedal is depressed) for the controller, find the wire that is labeled "brake sig" (this picks the brake relay). If you need a +12v signal, find the wire that is labeled "brake lamps". You might want to verify this info is correct, before attaching your controller, by metering the "brake sig" and "brake lamps" when someone steps on the brake pedal.

Hope this helps
