Where did you buy touch-up paint for your Monaco?

Hello everyone,

I contacted the REV group and they were able to send me the paint codes for my 2005 Monaco Signature, with the recipes for each paint color. I'm looking to buy a gallon of paint to refinish my roof caps around the edges where the paint has failed, but having trouble finding a company to mix the paint. Where did you buy touch-up paint for your Monaco?

For those who have the same rig, I attached the paint codes and recipes provided by the REV group for future reference. I specficially need "Landsdown Frost Metallic", Paint Code SI5405.

Thanks for any insight!

The original paint on my rig was BASF Diamont paint, widely used in automotive painting. I've bought it from two sources near me, gave them my color codes (which Monaco sent me) and they were to match

Also bought the clear coat there, two part.

Thanks for the replies! I contacted a few paint shops to inquire on physically paint matching a small piece considering the potential paint fade in the last 17 years, versus having it mixed based on the paint code. With your experiences, is it important to specifically get the BASF Diamont paint for it to properly match?

Fading is definitely an issue. I took a panel and had a local NAPA match it. Came out exactly right.

I've painted all four colors on my coach, if there was any paint fading I couldn't tell. But I painted the colors in large areas that terminated to a different color so it would be hard to tell a difference.

The last time I got paint I did take my fridge hatch door but the paint store said no need and just used the paint code.

But I know that paint matching is common and the technology has come a long way. I wouldn't be afraid to try it.

I took a hatch door off the back and the came close but not perfect. Since it was for the cap I used it and didn't tweak it.

I need to do more touch ups and will find another panel this time.

I've done it both ways. For older coach the photo gun match from a busy, reputable paint distributor is best. Take a fridge door in with you if it has your colors. I had a mix that was one shot (gloss included), a base that needed clear overcoat, and touchup pens that were one coat made up. Applying clear as a touchup and having it really smooth takes a LOT of work and skill. The one shot with a light compounding comes out very well and much easier for even a novice...even with a rattle can.

What product do you use for polishing out the clear coat?

If you want to see some work on youtube, google 'paint society'. They offer a lot of beginner tips and pro tips as well.

We have a 2005 Safari Trek, made by Monaco. This company had the Monaco paint names & codes, furnished the 3 colors & clear coat I needed and that matched exactly. They have touch up bottles, spray cans and quarts & gallons.

Ive used this company a couple times . Always a perfect match . If you purchase clearcoat . Get the 2 part one its much better.

I just sent them a message with a request. I really hope this is the solution for me.
