Where is my converter located

2009 Monaco knight. I have looked high and low for my converter without success. I have a Magnum inverter that has a 12V battery charger built in, is it possible my coach doesn't have a converter?
Thanks Paul

The Magnum is both an inverter / charger, which replaces the converter.

Converter/Charger is often the same term. I will use the (Converter/Charger), written just that way when explaining systems.

No, a converter and a charger are the same thing, they make 12v out of 120, an inverter makes 120v ac out of 12v dc. For purposes of this forums.

Converters supply power without batteries.

Chargers re-charge batteries.

Converter/chargers do both.

OP, in summary the answer to your question is "Yes".
Couldn't resist

So technically Xantrex and magnum don't make converters, because they don't put out anything without batteries hooked up. And they aren't a charger because they won't charge a dead battery either. I have a regulated power supply. It makes a pure 12 volts from ac. Puts out about 10 amps. Big, heavy, and utterly useless in an rv. I also carry a real battery charger in case I need to actually charge dead batteries. Happened once when a gardener let his kid mow and he chewed up my 50 amp cord. He repaired it but never turned the breaker back on. All 6 batteries were flat when I did my monthly check. The xantrex , of course, would not charge them.

I try my best to NOT confuse folks that don't have the depth of knowledge that many here do.

Trying to go in depth about a converter, inverter etc can muddy the waters so I will use the terms Converter/Charger (written precisely that way), .. Hope that makes better sense.

You will be completely confusing the so called shallow folks here. It is an inverter. Why don't you simply google xantrex converter/charger and watch what happens.
Again a converter and a charger are one and the same concerning a motorhome. An inverter and a charger are not. They perform two different functions.
Better yet let me google it for you.

Imagine that, it all comes back inverter/charger.

There are Converters......120VAC IN and 12VDC OUT
There are Converter/Chargers......120VAC IN/12VDC OUT and DC to battery for maintaining/charging

Then there are INVERTERS
12VDC IN and 120VAC OUT
OR Inverter/Chargers........12VDC IN/120VAC OUT and DC to battery for maintaining/charging

I have OEM Converter/Charger BUT I added an Inverter/Charger
Converter/charger is 3 stage but Inverter/charger is 4 stage and does better job of maintaining/charging my batteries
