Which chassis do I have?

How can I determine which Roadmaster chassis I have? I don't see anything on the build sheet. I think it's the RR8S, but not sure. Thanks!

The 4th digit is a "1" which says "S-series monocoque" but not the chassis number.

My VIN numbr is 1RF 12564222017730

Joe,

Either the 2002 or the 2003 was the last year they made the windsor with the semi-Monocoque chassis. Then they switched over to the RR8S chassis.

I believe the RR8S chassis is a lighter chassis and Monaco was having problems keeping the windsor with respectable CCC using the semi-monocoque since they didn't offer the windsor with a tag.

I don't know if they drive/ride any differently. I'd be curious to know.

Joe, You can check the Monaco Brochure archive at Monaco Coach website. They have most brochures going back to 2000.

I have the S-series chassis also. Everything I have read says it's the best handling chassis without a Tag. Mine tracks as straight as can be. If it doesn't that means most likely a problem with the air valves.

Right after buying the Windsor in 2012 we took a two month trip out west, driving through all the high winds out there, and it was extremely stable. I could have driven with one hand, but of course I never did!

on mine, if you look inside the passenger front wheel well.. there is a tag that shows what the chassis is.... I'm pretty sure that is where it is on mine.

Most or all of the DIPs were RR8R unless it had a tag, then it's a RR10R

Thanks Bill. From what I'm seeing from the little bit of research I've done it seems they start from 2003 forward. Mine is 2000. I found it road really well and handled great.

Apparently Monaco didn't start using the "S" and "RR" designations in their brochures and referred to all their chassis as "Roadmaster" like Bob said.

The chassis description in the brochures tells a little more. The 02 Windsor brochure states "Semi-monocoque" in the chassis description, but calls it the "RM8H" which is puzzling. Looking at what's left of Monaco's brochure archive online, there's no 03 Windsor brochure; the brochures for the 04 Windsor and Camelot do state "Roadmaster RR8S-Series Chassis". There's no 04 Dynasty brochure but the one for the 04 Executive does state "Roadmaster S-Series: Semi-Monocoque Chassis".

Hope I didn't imply brochures will tell everything. In the fine print of most, if not all, these brochures there's: "The manufacturer reserves the right, at any time, to make changes in product design or material or component specifications as its sole option, without notice".
