Which Shocks?

Which shock is best for an 04 Signature? Bilstien's, Koni's, or Source Engineering? The Bilstien's are the OEM shock and about $700 cheaper than the others.

Shocks are in my future on my '03 and my intention is to go with the Source Bilstiens.

I just received my Bilstein's shocks from Source engineering. I did quite a bit of research with this group plus several others. I talked to countless people on the phone. One of the few that have lifetime warranty to anyone, not just the original owner. They are getting installed next week. We will see how the ride is, but anything will be better then the Monroe's on there now. I don't think you can go wrong with the Koni's FSD either.

As someone else told us "any shock will be a huge improvement over the originals"".
We ordered Bilsteins comfort ride thru Summit Racing and we are very very happy

I went with the Billsteins after doing a LOT of research and reading a report comparing them with the Koni!

How long is the life of a shock. I have a 2008 Monaco Knight. I have the Road Master chassis with 8 shocks. I think it is time for new ones.

Your Knight likely came with cheap Monroe shocks, and they are probably done now!

Thanks Mike! That's the article I was referring to, but didn't know where to find it!

I think the ultimate bang for the buck is the Source Engineering Bilstein shocks.

Micki49, Bilsteins and Koni last well over 100,000 miles. Bilstein shocks may show a little seepage of oil which is designed into the shocks to lubricate the seal and doesn't mean the shock is bad.

A lot of Monaco RVs where fitted with Monroe shocks which are normally totally blown by 15,000 miles. These Monroe shocks are painted yellow the same as Bilstein but the difference is the top half of the shock for a Monroe is yellow painted metal but the Bilstein has a blue rubber dust cover top. My recommendation is if you have Monroe shocks regardless of the miles is to replace them. You may not realize how bad they are until you install a good shock.

So I've booked my 2005 Sig into Source Eng for a set of shocks on the 8th Sept.
I have noticed the front shocks are not doing their job well but can't fault the rear.
I guess if the fronts are stuffed so should the rears??
Does anybody know what brand would be on my coach now (Mike Canter)??
