Whirlpool 22 cf fridge install

After reading all the posts regarding the safety of the 1200 norcold one of the first items on my get done list was to swap out to a resi fridge. I have the Windsor PDQ which has the furnace under the fridge. I did not want to move the furnace so the Samsung was too tall. On another post I found this Whirlpool that was the same height as the Fisher Paykel that is usually substituted at at much better price.

Since I and my tools are still 1200 miles from the rig I used a local mobile mechanic to do the work. Not only did he keep me up to date with progress he sent me a daily video log of the work. He has given me permission to share this in case you have to do it. There were some bumps in the install but overall I am quite pleased with how it came out. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info! Hope I don't have to replace my 1200 for a while since I already replaced the cooling unit, but you never know!

I don't know where you found that Tech but he is a gem. A true craftsman! Your fridge is not a counter depth model. Will the doors open when your slides are in? We have a factory Whirlpool in our Dynasty but that model was discontinued. Whirlpool does make a counter depth model but it is a French door and too tall for your install.

I inherited him with the purchase as he worked on the rig for the previous owner. And yes he is a gem. If you have a rig in the Vancouver Wa area I will definitely recommend him, after he gets my wish list complete..

No need for any fancy locks on that Whirlpool. Use these for the refer and other cabinets that pop open. Easy to use and do not mar.

From Florida to Ca and back and not one problem with the refer opening.

We love our Whirlpool. It is so deep it is hard to reach clear to the back. Hard to believe it is over 10 cf larger than the side by side Dometic we had and it makes tons of ice.

We got a great deal on ours with a military discount and it went on sale one week after purchase so we got that discount too. What a great buy.

That tech is a gem. It took me the better part of three days to install mine too. Lots of little details and he did a tremendous job of documenting it.
