The crew and other personal at the Harrisburg Monaco Service Center are the best. I came in to have the windshield halo kit installed and a few other issues to be addressed. They took my coach in at 9:00 AM Monday morning to begin the work. I couldn't stay in the coach during this procedure so Monaco put us up in Comfort Suites just north of Eugene. Brad, my service writer, kept me informed throughout the process and called me Tuesday afternoon to report the coach was finished but they wanted to keep in inside to ensure everything was cured properly. We returned to the service center Wednesday at noon and the coach was finished and the new windshield was awesome. It was difficult to even find where the work was preformed. The two nights at Comfort Suites was well beyond what we expected and Monaco picked up the entire tab. I also had two out of warranty issues that were taken care of cheerfully at no cost. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at the Harrisburg facility. I might add this is my second visit here and the first one was equally as good.

HI Bob,

What's the halo kit? I have an 07 Camelot and have not heard anything about this kit.

Hi Scott. It is my understanding the 2007 and 2008 Camelots and Sceptors have a flex weakness in the front cap that allows too much movement resulting in broken windshields. My windshield broke at the top right corner so Monaco installed a halo kit that includes additional braces above the windshield and more in the generator compartment. I just had mine done at the Harrisburg facility and it looks great now. Only took two days but you can't stay in the coach so they put us up in a motel and paid the tab. You might want to check with the service center so see if your coach qualifies for this procedure. Mine was done under warranty.

Thanks Bob,

I'm in Harrisburg right now so I'll ask them about it. Do you know what month your camelot was built? I know they changed the shape of the windshield in the later part of the 07 year model (more rounded upper corners)which is what mine has.

Scott

Scott...The Camelot halo kit probably does not apply to your rig. I do know that the kit is only for some 2007 & 2008 Camelots...I was told they will actually run the coach number to see if the coach needs it now when a Camelot comes in...

What space are you in?

MM

I just looked at the picture on your blog and I think you are right behind up next to the laundry room.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner we've been out sightseeing and didn't get back till after the shop closed, so no wifi. Yes our coach is in the shop right now. 07 Camelot 40PDQ. Andy is our service writer and has been fantastic.

When we got back on Tues I saw a Monterey in the spot you were in, did you leave? We had to leave on Wed., as I have to go back to work on Sun, so I will return after the first of Nov. and take the coach home.

We are at Camp Monaco for the rest of this week and part of next week. Our repairs are made, but they have to repaint the beltline strip they replaced. It goes through three colors, so it may take a day or so. We are in site 37.

Our paint work has been outsourced to Guaranty in Junction City. We will move there at 0800 on Monday morning and stay in their lot. I have been very impressed with the work performed here at Camp Monaco. It appears that a future plan might be to buy a late model used Monaco product and then bring it here and spend $5-10k to make it like new.

We were planning on being at Camp Monaco (Harrisburg) tomorrow (December 22) but a fierce series of snowstorms have whacked us hard here in the Northwest (Surrey, BC, Canada). Right now our rig is covered in snow and I have just finished clearing our 100 foot driveway 3 times!

Called Harrisburg last Friday and told them we were not coming (no big deal they said) but told them we will try again for next Monday, the 29th.

As both of us are teachers in high school, this is one of 3 times a year we can make it for the long trek (Spring Break and Summer are the other two).

Weather man is predicting a slight warming spell (+6 Celsius instead of -10 Celsius) so, we might be down there yet before the end of the year!

Merry Christmas gang and keep up the good technical posts!
