Why dump the air?
This may look or sound dumb, why do you dump the air when you stop and set up to camp?

If you are leveling with hydraulic jacks, dumping the air out of the suspension air bags will drop the coach so level is achieved closest to the ground.

It gives your jacks a longer range of travel to level your rig.
It also usually gets the step closer to the ground to make access/egress easier.
It sounds cool when you do it!

We dump our air to lower the coach before we use our hydraulic rams to reduce the travel for the rams. Also it looks neat!

I often do not if close to level. If I am staying one night and am close to level I don't even drop them.

The lower you are to the ground the less you have to extend the jacks. The less you extend the jacks the more stable your coach is.

So, 2 reasons.
1. The jacks don't need to extend as far, and
2. Your entry step will be as close to the ground as possible

Why dump the air?
Because we don't own a Monaco where you don't need to.

from what I understand the jacks attach to the frame and the air bags are between the frame and the house. Therefore airing down will not change the amount the rams travel to level the MH. The reason to air down is to eliminate house "jiggle" with inside movement, lower the house and take some stress off the bags. I could be wrong tho

Air bags are between the axles and the frame, they replace the springs used in gas rigs, so dumping the air does lower the rig.

You mean that "you don't own a diesel pusher", Monaco or not, they all dump, if you wish to.

Sounds cool????
I like that one
LOL
OH, we forgot the warning,,,
Be sure your step is clear of possible obstacles before you drop your coach.
Could make for an expensive mistake.
