When you do this ,enlarge the hole in the jamb first. Once the latch operates well, put the latch in the lock position and mark your holes for drilling onto the sliding window’s frame. For a tighter fit when locked, drill the holes outward (towards you) just a hair so the lock draws the sliding window tight to the jamb.
