Windshield replacement

I need the best place to change out my windshield in the Phoenix, AZ area.

The lovely roads in AZ have destroyed my windshield. I have a one piece windshield on a 2000 Dynasty.

I haven't asked...I wanted to know who is the best so I only have to have them do it once.

I refused to use the national chain recommended by my insurer. These guys are exceptional. In fact, when you take it to them, ask them why the old one broke and what they can do to minimize the future risk.

I have used the one in Oregon twice, once to fix a factory leak between the glass and the gasket, and later when a stone chip I thought had been repaired (it hadn't) spread across the screen.

Never heard of anyone having an issue with them.

Did they tell you not to move it / disturb it, for several hours?

When we got ours replaced in their Coburg shop, they worked on it pretty much all day. We got back in about 5:30pm, but they asked us to stay put till at least 4:00 the following morning. When I asked about putting the slides out, they said "only if you have too".

The gasket was good, so it was just a glass replacement -- Backed their box truck close to the coach, set up the work platform with a walk board from the truck to the platform & did their thing -- They knew what they were doing -- Didn`t need my help, so I stayed far away -- Told me not to move the coach for 4 hours -- Not a problem for us -- It hasn`t been moved since December --

When we purchased our coach, the windshield was slipping down some, so when we were in Harrisburg Oregon for warranty work, they removed the windshield & gasket -- Installed a new gasket -- It had to sit for 24 hours, so they sent us to a hotel for the night -- Since then, no gasket problems -- I didn`t want any gasket work on the recent windshield install --

Bill,

Your saying I should leave it up to them if they replace the gasket?

Tim -- I`m sure no windshield guru -- But if you gasket is in good shape with no leaks or wind noise , why mess with it -- If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it -- Our gasket has no cracks or such -- I treat it with 303 protectant now & then -- If you still have the corner lot, I think the installers would have no problem replacing the glass without you having to move -- Maybe back up a little -- Or, if you wish, you could bring it to our place & have them do it here -- Bill Willard

I made an appointment with RV Glass Solutions in Coburg, before I left home in B.C. I had the green light from my insurance Co to replace the gasket as well, but the manager at RV Glass I was dealing with thru email, let me know that if the existing gasket had no tears or cracks, they prefer to use it.

Don't know their reasoning, but 2 years later, so far so good!
