Windshield replacement for motorhome in Yuma
Does anyone have a recommendation for someone to replace our front windshield on a 2008 Beaver Marquis? Will likely pay for it out of pocket so as not to torpedo the Progressive insurance policy. We are wintering in Yuma until 1 March. May look for vendors in Quartzite as well.

There are a few mobile windshield folks in QZ.

Like 10Boomer said, there are glass vendors in Quartzsite. Mike "Drifter" has a finger on the pulse of the Monaco group that gathers for the RV show. You may be able to join forces with some others in the bunch and get a deal on a group purchase. Follow this thread if you're interested.

FMCA has a program with Guardian Glass. They may be able to help you. I have not used this program, but you may be able to save some $$$.

We have had our windshield replaced ($2,500) and a year later reset ($800) and it didn't affect the insurance premium a bit (Allstate and $1,200 premium hasn't changed more than $50 in 5 years).
We had a $1,000 deductible for the replacement but lowered it to $250 afterwards since the one piece windshield on our Monaco Coach appears to have an unusual number of windshield issues according to several post I have read here.
I am not sure if it is due to being a safety issue and the insurance commission wont let the insurance company raise the rate or if it is due to being a Comprehensive claim instead of a collision claim. On the resetting of the windshield Allstate tried to file it as a collision as they felt something had to cause it, but once I explained that there was no collision involved, it simply popped out of the gasket while driving down the road and being hit by a big wind gust they paid for the resetting minus the $250 deductible.
As long as there isn't any accident involved I would file a claim. I think even a pot hole counts as a accident, so think about your response when describing what might have caused the damage to your windshield. Hopefully it was simply a rock hitting it or something similar.

I would call Duncan glass and use their installer. Re: claims, I made a claim with National General for a windshield in 2015 and they raised my rates $400 on a 6 month policy. OUCH.

Got my window changed in Mt Home Idaho at an RV park while enroute from AZ to N Idaho. Used Kraxx out of Boise. He brought the window to us and was done in 1.5 hours in a 20 mph wind. He (Edwin) says he prefers RV windows to car windows. Changes them all over the NW and in AZ in winter. Highly recommend him and his work. Duncan did the paperwork for Progressive.
