The 3 60 watt light bulbs worked great. We left Wisconsin at about 20 degrees.
I put a remote temp sensor on top of the fresh water tank and the light bulbs kept it 39 degrees +. Would have to increase the wattage if the temp was colder.

So far, I’ve relied on my rear furnace and have been ok in my Phaeton. I hear people putting incandescent lights or small heater cubes in the wet bay. On the Phaeton, you have access to wet bay on drivers side where hose and sewer connections are. But you do not have access to the bay where the tanks are. So those of you that rely on heaters in the wet bay, are you talking about only the bay where the water connections are?

We have a 2005 36PDQ Monaco Cayman with the water heater in the rear corner of the motorhome. When you need hot water at the shower or sinks, you need to run and waste a fair amount of water to get the water at the tap hot.

I’m installing a PEX T under the kitchen sink and running a PEX line to a 12v valve that will be connected a new port in the fresh water tank. A switch will be installed in the kitchen to turn on/off the valve. A manual drain valve will be installed to drain this new line when winterizing.

This will allow us to get hot water to the shower or sinks without wasting fresh water (we tend to boondock often). An additional feature will be that we can run hot water into the fresh tank to keep the tank from freezing in cool weather, solving part of the problem discussed here.
