Wiper removal to replace washer part

How do I remove the wiper arm so I can remove the plastic nut and replace the plastic part that has the connection for the washer fluid? I have the part and the nut will come off but I don't want to reinvent the wheel on removing the arm.

My experience is that the wiper arm is a splined connection to the shaft....and this connection is held in place due to the pressure exerted by the springs (i.e., the springs that press the wiper blades to the windshield). Remove the wiper arm spring pressure....and the spline will slip off the shaft. Some prying will be necessary.

Wow, fast response and thank you. I went out to check and my neighbor across the street asked what I was doing. I explained and he walked over. Said, just pull the plastic cover off and remove the nut. Sheesh. How simple was that? I tear stuff apart every day and just didn't see it. The plastic felt like it was the metal arm itself. In any case, thanks for the input. There was a huge spring there and it was apparent that would not do the trick. Parts replaced in ten minutes.
