Workhorse motor 2008 Safaria Simba

Our 2008 Safaria Simba with a workhorse chassis keeps burning out the wiring to the spark plugs. Have others experienced this problem and if so what are the possible solutions.The warranty ended April 14 of this year.

You should search the Workhorse chassis forum (in the Chassis Club section) on this site for this info. There is a ton of info on these issues there.

There is an engine ventilation cooling kit available. www.workhorse.com
Look under parts listing. Several coach designs needed the addition of the kit.

The plug wire problem has existed all the way back to the first P30's.

The fix is:

One buy high quality heat resitant wires. Yea they cost more. They make special wires with ceramic ends. And or high quality racing wire.

Install them yourself. The average mechanic could care less.

Make sure to route them as far from the exhaust manifolds as possible

Secure them with keepers. Don't let em flap in the wind.

Don't run the sucker wide open up hill for long periods of time and get the manifolds so hot you can see thru them.

if it "keeps" happening... your service center/tech is a rube. Its a common issue and a seasoned tech would be well aware of the cure unless they just want you coming back for easy $$$.

Thanks for the info. The problem was not a burnt spark plug wire. It was a clip from the coil on the left side that feed the four cylinders came lose and I lost spark to the left side of the engine.
