Yesterday I finally got around to putting the anti-slip tape on the slideouts to help the gaskets flip. I was opening one slide at a time an applying the tape. When I opened the large front slide behind the driver and climb to the top of the ladder I immediately noticed a stench that smelled like something dead. Looking across the top of the slide I could see a large splotch on the seal. Having previously owned a 5th wheel with the awning mounted above the 10th floor window I still had an extra long awning rod. Using that rod I was able to remove the object which turned out to be a very flat bird. After the last time we used the motorhome we left the slides open for about two days to let the carpet dry after we cleaned it. I guess the bird thought that was a nice sheltered place to stay and refused to leave when the slide started in.

Bob...Maybe you could shellac him and make him into a hood ornament!
