2006 30RSO - New Owner

I've asked a couple of questions and from previous experience, a new thread for each specific question seems to be the best way of doing it.

We've just taken delivery of our new to us 2006 30RSO Classic along with a 2010 one ton Dodge diesel pickup. The previous owner (a friend) had reached the time in life where he had to give up a long history of RV travel. We hated he had to quit but some time ago I'd asked for first chance to buy the Dodge, and my wife said if I got the Dodge, she wanted the trailer.

We've go a pretty long history of RVing, starting with popups through a diesel pusher. This is our second 5th wheel.

The previous owner took really good care of the unit but did little to upgrade it except for a flat panel TV. I will be exchanging all the heat lamps with LED bulbs. Replacing the aged Trojan T-105 batteries with less expensive but more readily available Sam's Club golf cart batteries, and a 240 to 400 watt solar panel system.

The rig we've been using for the last 5 years is a Canadian built 25 foot Bigfoot pull behind trailer. It's a 4 season unit like the Excel. I love it but we just need a little more room. The Excel with 3 pull outs will give us that room. We look forward to getting on the road with it. First short check out trip probably next month.

We also have a 2006 30RSO. We really like it but we too are making upgrades. We also moved from a TT for more room but sure miss the places we use to drag that thing to.

Thanks Guys. JBTAZ, what modifications have you made and what's planned?

Kind of interesting in that on some RV's like my diesel pusher, there was almost no mods to be made (I added a small inverter) whereas on my Casita and on my Bigfoot, there we all kind of improvement opportunities. I think on the Excel, there will only be updates like solar and updating the audio/video systems.
