4" recessed fixtures for Excel on sale
My unit has 4" recessed LED lighting which I posted, with pictures, on this site on another thread. I was finally able to contact the supplier and they have an abundance of these including housing, lens and bulbs for $4.95 per fixture. I am posting this for those of you who might want to upgrade at a discount price. The supplier is:
KaperII Wheel simulators and Led Lighting (360-578-0530)
Contact person is John Miranda

Yes, but they may have other options that I didn't ask about.

Today I received the four LED light fixtures that I ordered yesterday.
I replace one of the fixtures this afternoon to see what it looks like. Here's the new fixture compared to the old.
As you can see the original fixture has springs attached. The new ones come with springs but I decide not to use then, at least at this time.
The only part that takes some time is moving the connectors to the new fixture.
The light on the left is the new LED fixture. The light is much whiter than the old halogen although I admit it's hard to tell in this picture.
My wife just went to the trailer to check it out. She said to order 28 more.

Rob,
Thanks for the pictures and comparison. If these were around when my unit was built I would have put them in instead of the replacement G4 LED lights I put in. They are not nearly as bright as these ones. Did you soldier the wires or use connectors then shrink tube?

I discovered the same thing Rick. These are MUCH nicer.
I did solder the connections.

Gary, I would bet it's the difference of cool white (yellowish cast) and bright light (bluish cast). Just guessing though.
Rob, looks like you had to switchover the springs also. Is that right?
Also did they come with a warranty?

Tom, the fixtures came with springs in a separate package but I decided to mount them using the screws from the original lights since the holes line up. I'm not sure why Excel uses both. The other difference is in the lens. The original lens popped off while the new ones twist off.

Thanks Rob. Just a note of caution, incase someone isn't familiar with it, when taking the round base out of the ceiling, be cautious of the springs. Those rascals can snap like a small mouse trap and if your fingers are in the way......ouch!!!! I've not done it myself because I was reminded by Ralph before I took out my first one some years back. rockin'

I know that solder and shrink tubing is the way to go but I think I'd just use a good heat shrink butt connector for the ends.
