Hey folks,

Yep, that's us, always with the questions... this time tho it isn't about Excel, but where to buy one... Jennifer has fallen in love with the 36BDE as she is partial to aft kitchens and I have no problem with her choice.. We are going to be retiring around the end of next year and will be moving back to TX (well at least home basing there thru Escapees) and going full-time.. we won't be buying out next 5er until we return to TX for many reasons. So what is our question??... dealers in TX.. got any good suggestions??? I see where they are from the Google Earth map we found on this site.. but would look to any of you that might have any experiences (good or bad) with dealers in the state.. we don't have a problem going out of the state if necessary, but would prefer to buy in TX is possible.

Anywho, thanks for your time and we hope to be joining you in the not so distant future...

John,

I forgot to thank you for the welcome earlier... but better late than never... Thanks...

We have narrowed our choices down to Excel and Carriage (Carri-Lite) and the rear kitchen in the Excel has us pretty much captured us at this point... of course, as in all things in life, things can change over the next year or so.. (actually according to my countdown timer on my screensaver, it is 1 year, 167 days, 12 hrs and a few minutes - but whose counting ).

Thanks again

We're going to treat you as 'family' and please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. We have "...1 year, 167 days, 12 hrs and a few minutes..." to convince you to become an official member.

John,

Probably won't have to do a lot of convincing .. just have to see what the '09/'10 Excel floorplans have to offer... btw, I am also retired USAF Msgt (well I only made it to E7). Retired in 1987 after 24 yrs and have been working for the Fed (court system) ever since (will be 22 years when I retire once and for all)..

I will be a frequent lurker of that you can be assured, for as informative of the Excel product as this forum is, it is highly entertaining as well

Although it has been many many years since I been "home", the Bottom Dollar reference sounds familiar. I lived in Freeport from 1953 until I went into the USAF in 1963... of course, I was in and out of that area quite a lot until my Dad died in 1980... I didn't return until the early 90s after I retired from the AF, and the last time I was there briefly was in 2002 for my 40th high school reunion (I understand that right after that reunion they had to tear down Brazosport HS because of the asbestos and build a new HS)

Clute is almost a straight shot down from Livingston (where we will be when we first return to TX) so it will be easy to make that trip.. if we get a chance on one of our next trips to San Antonio, we make take a long detour an swing by for a visit...

Thanks for all the info and we hope to make pests of ourselves around the forum for a long while..
