Anyone have a 2014 GM truck

Swapping out my 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 for a 2014 3500 HD to tug my 37' Winslow around. Had the Carlise electric over hydraulic adapter to make my 2011 Silverado compatible with the fifth wheel brakes. According to "Dexter Axles" they told me that GM told them the 2014 trucks would no longer need the adapter. If so, will I need to disconnect the adapter now mounted on my fifth wheel that I had on there for my 2011 or will the brakes work anyhow on the new 2014? No one can seem to answer the question and I pick up the truck tomorrow. Anybody out there pulling with a 2014 GM product??

Rockin' Tom has a 2014 Chebby 3500HD.

I'm sure he will chime in soon....

I have 2014 Chevy 3500 dually......sorry to say you'll still need the adapter for the your new GM truck. I'm a little confused cause the adapter should be in your trailer.......and you're only swapping trucks not the trailer, right? Shouldn't need to do a thing. BTW....I'm retired from GM service engineering......my contacts say that the 2016 model won't need the adapter. Sometimes it takes us a while..... Another BTW you'll love the pulling performance and engine braking of the new truck.

Just an added note. Your trailer setup with the adapter will work fine even if the tow vehicle didn't need it. Example would be if you hooked up a Ford/Dodge truck to your rig the brakes would function fine. Just FYI. rockin'

Thank you. That is what I wanted to know. Yes, the adapter is mounted in my front area where generator goes. Apparently Dexter has incorrect info and will advise them. Looking forward to pulling with new truck. The 2500 hd would pull fine but felt it was a bit like the tail was waggin the dog!
