It's a fault indicator. It should only light when it's in trouble of some kind, say, out of gas, or you're trying to run your water heater in a hurricane, and the flame keeps being blown out.

When the light goes on, it means that the light is working.

Light I was seeing is the water pump. Apparently, wind tunnel is between my ears.

To further clarify....When I turn on the propane switch I get an amber "ON" light and if it fails to light the flame, after the third try..... I get the "RESET" light in conjunction with the "ON" light. Will someone that has more creditability than me....put this subject to rest!!! Bryan? Wrongway?

Why would we put it to rest..it keeps drawing you in here! My rig is not like any of yours....so it won't matter if I tell you my light is lit (red lights) when I have the water heater on..and oh -I have two lights ... one for electric and the other for propane...

PS.. hmmm...don't complain that I am quiet.. you may wake the beast!)

Gentlemen,

I have this same switch configuration on my Bounder and this past weekend I got the dreaded red light. Did some testing and determined that my "LOCKOUT" was due to the thermostat not shutting off the unit at the right temp. My elec and also tried it with gas, both raised the water temp to 150 degrees, at which time an overload shut down the system and emitted the RED LIGHT.

I then ran out the scolding hot water, let it cool down then fired it back up on the electric mode and it worked great the rest of the weekend. So now the task it to try and figure out what is going on and what is failing?

Any ideas????

BounderFreddy
