Looks to be leaking from the tank somewhere under the insulation

This is the tank I just replaced with a leak on the bottom near the weld. A new Tank was purchased on Amazon for 200.

Here's a link to a replacement Chart,

PI used to provide 2 year all inclusive warranty regardless of the independent component warranty limitations..have you called PI?..

Yes I called Ralph on Friday when it was locking out and was told to call Atwood since they are responsible for the warranty, same way with Sur Flo last month when our water pump was overflowing our fresh water tank.

I guess no more all inclusive PI warranty. .they hand you off to the component manufacturer instead! Imagine if the big three automakers did that. Edit: I just read Excel's warranty on their website. It clearly says that installed equipment warranties are the responsibility of the equipment manufacturer. This is a change from five years ago.

Well Atwood warranty for the water heaters is worth less they will not pay for a service call to fix any warranty the unit has to be taken to a service facility approved by on there Web site.
Atwood is not very Full Timer Friendly so now this also has to come out of our pocket.

John,

Sorry to hear of your WH issue. Guess I don't know of anybody who pays for service calls. You have to take it to the authorized repair facility if it's under warrantly. Usually, that's why I do most of the repairs myself. I don't like sitting in repair facilities myself, but sometimes you have to do it. rockin'

I didn't know replacement tanks were available for water heaters!

In fact, I just learned about the water mixing valve on back of the XT series water heaters. Don't know if I'd go back with a XT if mine failed. I thought my unit was bad because I couldn't get hot - hot water out of it. duh

Sorry Rockin when I talked to the Atwood service center they gave me phone numbers of to mobile repair guys since they had no mobile service after I told them that we work full time and could not get it to them since it is under warranty and if I touched it then the warranty would be void.
Now I have to send old parts back to Atwood and bill and wait and see how much they will pay.
Warranty does not do working full timers any good.
Anyways you all have happy travels we will not be posting anymore on here .
Or on face book.
