We did the same thing to our '12 WC last year. We got all materials from Home Depot and it took an afternoon to complete. It's amazing at the difference it makes with little touches like that. Good job y'all!

That really looks great!!

The paneling does leave it a little short. That was the first thing I noticed when I walked into my first Excel several months ago. I guess yours has the center island sink?

We have the L shape counter. PI changed to the island a few months after ours was built.

For those of you interested, I have a picture of the mosaic tile and border pieces.
I cut the 12"x12" pieces into 3-4"x12" pieces and used these inside of the border. So I got 36" out of each 12x12. On my back splash I left out the small diamond pieces on the edges (which I would have cut in two had I kept left them in the pattern) but kept them in the middle. I had to be careful to keep the alternating pattern in the diamonds in the middle when I cut the 4x12's shorter.

On the close up of the backsplash notice how much the grout has lightened. I will use a sealer/enhancer in a few days to darken this to, hopefully, a look similar to that before it dried. .

Here is the final product after using the enhancer/sealer (pictured).
It's not rocket science but there are a couple of steps that are problematic. If you decide to do a project similar to this and are unsure as to how to proceed e-mail me at garlew48@msn.com and I'll be glad to help you all I can.
I really enjoyed doing this project.

gorgeous!!

That is just gorgeous!! Thank you for posting the pictures. It just shows how you can take something that is already classy looking and just putting it over the top ... as well as making it truly your own.

Hope this posts since I'm using my iPhone vs my big girl laptop.

But yes, Excel does offer homes with pre done back splashes behind stoves. This is the same material as our kitchen countertops and looks and cleans great. We have a 2012 36 RKM that was purchased from the bestest Excel dealership (IMHO) .... RV sales in Moriarty NM. It was on the lot and not one made to our order so someone had a good idea.
