Direct TV Genie

Anyone using the new Direct TV Genie DVR? The previous HD DVR required 2 satellite inputs. But prior to the 2012 model year, Excel only ran one cable from the roof mount location to the entertainment center. The Genie DVR only requires one satellite input. Just want to see if anyone is using this new box with the Winegard SK-3005, and if everything works.

I am using in my MH the HR34, HR23, H21 and H25 with my SK-3005 that I converted to a SWM dish with a kit I got off of ebay.

The SK-3005 must be changed to a SWM to use the Genie or H25.

Genie HR-44 & Mini Clients

Hello everyone, I am currently running the HR44 with 2 C41 mini clients. i have installed the New Traveler SWM-3 dish. This unit picks up three birds for HD. I have 4 TVs the outside TV and the Front TV share a client. The client for the outside TV is inside and the RF remote works great. Have you guys heard about the new Wireless Mini Clients coming out in a few months. The C41W will connect to the HR 44 wireless No coax. This will be the hot ticket for Motorhomes.

I have the Genie in the S&B house and have liked it for the most part. It is a bit slow to react to remote commands from the clients and I find that I frequently have to reset the receiver which locks up but it's been worth it to get the features it offers.

As mentioned, you would have to convert your SK3005 dish to SWM and I do hear that wireless clients are about to be introduced so you might want to hold off just a bit to see if that'll be your best bet.
