I understand it is also more energy efficient. The PM is also a lower profile unit. The PM also has a larger condenser area and a higher air volume at the vents. My experience with Polar Mach has been outstanding. I understand that Dometic has a new and improved unit too. Hip-hip-hooray for modern technology! rockin'
Are they interchangeable for an upgrade?

I don't think so Bruce....the main difference is the Polar uses a completely different mounting in the roof. No "chill grill" like in your rig. It has a big plenum with 2 air returns in the ceiling. rockin'

Good. I didn't want to spend the money anyway.

"Plenum" - I love when you talk like that.

It is not Excell, Carrier, Dometic, Penguin. It's 10,000, 13,500, 1500, etc that makes the difference when it comes to cooling. That's BTU's folks

Not who made it but how many BTU's.

But wait there is more.. The "R" factor of the walls and roof also figure in.

More R means less BTU's needed, And this is a good thing because more BTU's = More current drawn = More tripped breakers = More power issues.
