Yeah, the brakes work using the manual slider when parked. But not when towing. No brakes with the brake pedal either parked or towing.

Tis the usual support - We warranty our product to work, unless you use it.

Let the battle begin!

Just wondering if you have someone in your area or park that has a truck like yours that would be willing to take your coach for a spin around the block. That would prove for sure whether it's the coach or truck system real quick.

Just a thought. Tom

Yep. Brakes worked OK.

Couple days ago I used a 12v tester and a voltmeter on the truck. I was able to replicate the symptoms on the brake lead of the Bargman socket. So I'm convinced that the problem is in the truck brake controller, and that the dealer either didn't know anything or didn't try. I'll take the truck to a different dealer in Phoenix.

Bruce,
Got your binders (brakes) or truck fixed yet? What was wrong?

Tom

Dexter says there is no problem with the actuator and Ford says the same about their controller. On Monday, I plan to take the truck and RV to a Ford dealer in Prescott, AZ, who works on both. This way he can see the problem with all the equipment. Man, git er done already!

Sunday AM, well noon actually, we depart for Prescott AZ for our appointment with destiny, in the form of the Ford dealer to fix the truck controller for the trailer brakes.

Driving up to Prescott. Hey, the brakes work! Why? Who cares anymore! I figure that so many people had touched the truck and trailer in the past four months, inadvertently someone had fix em. Bruce takes full credit...why not.

To all those who offered help, thanks. Got no answer for the solution, just a bit of peace of mind.

No, Tom, not piece of mind. And I have just enough to hook up the trailer without hurting anyone.

Bruce, I have a question for you. I also have a 2007 controller, and I had something "funny" happen with the brakes today.

When you were having you problem, did the controller "look" like it was functioning normally??

I had a situation today where it seemed to me that my truck brakes were doing all the work, with no help from the trailer brakes. Everything looked normal, the bar graph was climbing, but the trailer brakes didn't seem to be working. I am pulling close to 17K pounds, so I have always been running the gain set at 8.0, and it has always seemed to be a good setting.

Now here is the strange part, I bumped the gain up one to 8.5, and the trailer brakes started to work again (but 8.5 is too high, I could "feel" the Demco banging more than I like) I moved the controller back to 8.0 and everything was fine again.

Just wanted to touch bases with you about what I experienced today, incase yours goes "funny" again.

Doug

Doug,

Mine didn't not work that way. When I hit the brakes, the dash display read TRAILER DISCONNECTED.

I set my controller at 6.5, but I'm only towing 15000. I have disk brakes and the demco actuator. So the voltage at 6.5 works well enough.

Thanks Bruce,

I don't have the disc brakes, so maybe I just had/have a poor connection that reacted to the gain increase.
