See, you have done it. I got to thinking about it and started to smile and found this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270330607471

An ebay auction for some 91 acres of land, looked at the pictures and what did I find. Just what I said, an old wasted thing that has no place in most people lives. If you look at the pictures, that smile turns into sadness. Life left it behind and I am not sure anyone would pay good money to buy that.

Larry, I sincerely hope your addressing the real-estate and not SKIA!! Remember, behave for "Mama" and she will reward us in her own special way!

You said it not me, I would never talk about Old Oak Poop Head that way.

Am I correct in thinking that part of Hwy 40 is also old Route 66? I am embarrassed to say that it was so mundane and boring that I don't remember much about it if that is the case...

Interstate 40 is the new Route 66. Interstate 70 replace Hwy 40. Both are pretty much memories of the past. Hwy 40 does live in places but not many. But you are right, mundane and boring for both roads.

Boring, Hwy 40, no such thing in parts of Denver. Hwy 40 is known as Colfax in Denver.

From Wikipedia:

Colloquially, the arterial is referred to simply as "Colfax", a name that has become associated with prostitution, crime, and a dense concentration of liquor stores and inexpensive bars. Playboy magazine once called Colfax "the longest, wickedest street in America." However, such activities are actually isolated to short stretches of the 26-mile (42 km) length of the street.

Only the east side of Colfax in Aurora is what is being described above.

I owe Jim & Bona an apology for straying off the topic of this thread. You're not "naive" or "uniformed" folks -- just some crazy old coots chewing their gums about nothing of substance.

Chief -

Thanks for the unnecessary apology. Careful whattcha say about old coots 'cuz I'm probably older than most of those coots!

Anyway, we're pretty easy to entertain (low expectations = fewer disappointments __ one of the very few lessons learned over the years).

You're the one who should tread carefully Jim -- you may catch this "old coots" virus that SKIA (Rockin) aka Tom Clapham infected all of us with just by associating on this forum!

Not to worry. Tom touts his 14 IQ and I couldn't hope to keep up with his wit (humor) even on my best day. That must put me somewhere in the high single digit category.

By the way, I think I've figgered out a way to harass ole SKIA by way of anonymous email. If that doesn't work I'll keep promising to send him the pix of my battery setup "tomorrow". That'll keep him wound around his axle for a while.
