Fresh Water tank leak

I've searched the forum and have found the grey and black water tank leak threads, but nothing on the fresh water tank.

I pulled the inspection cover and the dump valves are clean and dry. The leak seems to be more towards the rear of the fresh water tank. I do not see anything leaking under the kitchen sink that would be a cause.

The last thing I did was to sanitize the tank with bleach, and dump the water and added fresh. Could the dump valve be leaking or have there been any tank problems?

Would like to get some input/comments before I start pulling the underbelly off.

Mark

Where are you finding the water. It's been documented that some tank installs will siphon a lot of water if over filled or real full and start traveling from the type of overflow vent installed. These must go down in the tank somehow. A couple posters had gravity fill hose on side of tank as well and hose cracked.
I would check the feed line to pump and strainer as well.

Hi Mark,
Based on what you've said so far, the first thing I'd check is the water heater for a leak. Get in to rear of the water heater and see if is wet at the bottom. I can't remember if the 34 IKE is a Winslow or Limited? The limited for sure has a drain tray just in case you get a leak and routes the water thru a little clear rubber hose to the bottom of the belly blanket. The outlet of the hose was spray painted black and was very hard to see. If the WH is dry I would remove the vertical inspection panel to view the rear of the freshwater tank. I never had a leak on the FW tank on any of the three Excels I owned. Hope this helps and let us know what you find.

Once again I have to give my apologies, I meant to figure out how to post pictures and write a report.

Short version, it was the FW tank! It must have been a Monday or Friday for the fabricator, because the only thing holding the tank in place was the plastic nipple between the tank and the hose to the pump.

I pulled the tank, cut the frame apart and fitted it to the tank and rewelded it. Per Curtis, I took the tank into a local RV dealer and had a new fitting spun welded in, and put back together.

I would recommend to anyone prepping for the season to pull the inspection cover ahead of the front axel and take a look at how the water is sitting on the framework.
