Front HYD Jacks won't extend

A friend has an Excel that the front jacks will not extend, the HYD slides works OK the pump runs when trying to extend the jacks.

I think it is the relay, or wiring.

any ideas??

Dan, I've had this issue except the jacks wouldn't retract. Same issue. Does his system have the pendent? If so, they have issues with the 4 control switches on the pendent. You can command the jack, the hydraulic motor runs and the jack doesn't move because the appropriate solenoid doesn't function. The pendent switch is not entergizing the solenoid.

Have your friend take something like the handle end of a screwdriver and tap/rap on the switch on the pendent that is acting up. That ususally turns out to be a temporary repair until the pendent can be replaced by Lippert. Good luck and let us know if that worked.

BTW, Curtis is great on these things at PI. He is the SME of hydraulics. I've also had some experience as I was trained on the Cad XLR (before retirement) with the folding retractable top and it uses much the same concept as our Lippert hydraulics. rockin'

We had an issue with our 2010 front hydraulics not extending if you paused after beginning to extend the jacks. If you fully retracted the jacks and started over, they would (usually) work. Rockin had a similar rig at the time and had correctly identified the problem as a circuit card that was supposed to cause a short delay was dropping the voltage below what the system needed. Took it into the dealer and had them contact Curtis at PI. The fix was to remove the circuit card and the jacks have worked ever since, without the very annoying delay. -John

Problem Solved!!
One or both of the 50 amp breakers was bad, changed both to make sure. The installation has the 2 breakers wires in series, the problem is finding them, that can be different locations.

Thanks for the feedback Dan. Glad they got it fixed. Did a dealer fix it or a call to PI? I'll like more detail of possible. rockin'
