Hoo hah. We picked up our 33RSE today at Lewiston RV and now we have joined the ranks of the affluent homeless. AKA full time.
As soon as we get some sleep tonight, and unpack tomorrow, we'll be celebrating. Going to the Life On Wheels conferences this week and next.
Now if Bruce can only get that Hughes satellite dish working....

Congrats!
We know it is a bit scary at first. What a major change in your life. Your snooty friends back home tell you your nuts....later you'll find that some are just secretly jealous, but don't want to take the chance!
We are here for ya! Please keep us abreast of your travels, etc.
Again congrats! Take your time and take it easy.
Many folks start off trying to see the whole thing in 2 years and it "ain't gonna happen"!

Bruce, Jenna,
Congrats. I envy you two. Our current elderly/sick parents circumstances make any kind of travel impossible for us and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy the good times.
Cheers,
Bob

Congrats Bruce & Jenna! We're only able to "play" at the FT lifestyle due to similar family issues as Bob and Sharon are facing. Enjoy and keep us posted of your adventures.

Congrats!
Our stick house has been on the market for a few months, but no offers so far.
As soon as the house is gone, so are we!!!

I hope you'll now join the Excel Fulltimers Yahoo Group. It's not a very busy group (unfortunately), so you won't be inundated with emails.
As for the HughesNet satellite dish (I assume you have the tripod-mounted system), it's very easy to set up and find the signal. It may take awhile the first couple of times. We've had ours for over 3 years now, and it takes about 15 minutes from the time Earl starts assembling all the equipment to the time I'm online.

It sort of looks like this group is becoming the Excel forum of choice even though we are a diverse collection from wannabees to FT'rs.
Since 90% of our equity is tied up in our home and our son still has one more year of college yet we'll have to live our adventures through Tom, John, Linda, and Bob for a while unless we can beg, borrow, or steal a truck camper as a fill-in until we can place our Excel order.
Keep up the adventures!
Dave

Bruce and Jenna,
This has been a while coming for both of you but now that it is here, Congrats on becoming FTers and on your new 5er. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do (even though we are FTers with a house still but we do live in our 5er FT).

Bruce and Jenna,
Have fun and keep us posted on your travels.
Like others here, we're waiting for the house (condo) to sell so we can order our Excel and TV and hit the road fulltime. We also have elderly parents to be concerned about so that may hinder our travels somewhat.

B & J,
Congratulations on becoming fulltimers. I'm sure you will enjoy the serenity of not having a stick house to care for. Our "retirement" home when on the market on July 10 as we make our way to FTers. A giant decision that took us almost a year to make. Getting rid of accumulated "stuff" has been a challenge for us.

Congratulations B&J and Virgil & Allmond for realizing your dreams. We're probably never going to severe our ties to the stick and envy you folks that are FT'ing.
Currently in Cheyenne, WY at one of the (IMO) worst military FamCamps we've visited.

Chief,
Cheyenne has some of the cheapest fuel we've found in a long time. If I recall correctly there is a Flying J and Loves accross the road from one another. Cheap propane also.
We are just outside of Ottawa Canada now and loving it. Spending time with friends. However fuel is rather expensive. Yesterday I filled up with a 1/4 left and spent $100.00 (factory 35 gal tank). Ouch. Comes out to be $4.00 a US gal. Also, there is not much difference in the exchange rate -.95 to the Canadian dollar. Makes you think twice about just going out to drive just "monkey fartin' around"!
We are finding in our travels that many folks are just going a short distance from home for their vacations due to fuel prices. Retired and on a "fixed" income! Tom

Thanks Tom -- we need some "cheap" fuel to feed "Dinky Dau" as she takes about 300 gal. when she gets real thirsty. "Dinky Dau" is Vietnamese for crazy, which is what our kids call us when referring to our RV lifestyle.
