Several months ago we had a discussion on towing trailers, etc. behind our Excels. Dave Knapp, "KU9L", an engineer and pending Excel owner, was going to research the Idaho Tote as a possible solution for hauling our toys.

Dave, what did you determine? Appears to be a viable alternative to towing double, given that the Idaho Tote is not a licensed "trailer" but an extension of the 5th wheel (in theory).

Simply weld the provided attachment to your recreational vehicle and the Idaho Tote easily bolts right on!

The Idaho Tote turns automatically as it senses the turning pressure from your motor coach, 5th wheel or primary vehicle.. simply put, it steers itself! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I was interested as well and emailed them asking if a license plate was required. Got not answer so far. Seems to me if a tag is required then it would be considered towing double.
