We are in the process of outfitting the new 09 L33TKE and wondering if a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer works well and if so where do you install the outdoor sending unit?? we have been using a wired unit in the old trailer with the ouside probe going theough the escape window, it wore the wire and has been repaired with tape.
Any help will be appecated.

We got a wireless one at Target on sale for $10. The transmitter, I put on the inside generator door in the front of the MH with a small screw and a string in case it jars lose. It works real well. The receiver sits on the shelf by the dinner table. s/Toby

Dan,
I fooled with this issue for quite some time and tried several areas to mount the outside transmitter. Bottom line, I epoxied a large magnet to the back of the transmitter and put in a freezer ziplock bag and put under the front step into the rig. Puts it out of sight to a potential burglar. This makes it weatherproof and close to the thermometer which I have mounted on the wall just inside the door. Check out the pix. I tried to mount the transmitter on the pinbox area and the sun gives it a false high reading and sometimes it would not display the reading inside due to the distance. Inside the basement area also gives false readings. HTH Rockin'

We have a clock from Brookstone that projects the time and outside temperature on the ceiling of the bedroom. The outside thermometer is a wireless transmitter and we just sit it in the shade at each place we set up. It works great.

Virg,
Project on the ceiling in the bedroom....uuhhhh...oh never mind! It would be so easy....but this is a family oriented show and I don't feel like getting yelled at....AGAIN! It's well known that I'm somewhat sensitive, so be extra careful!

Dan, on page 12/13 of the Best Practices there was a brief discussion on wireless thermometer placements. Glad to see Tom for now isn't crawling under his unit as much as before.
Still use mine on the pin box for convience. Haven't noticed and haven't tried the sensor in other locations, it seems to work fine for me there. The ceiling display would be interesting but what I need is an automated unit that would respond to the DW when she would ask "whats the temps feel like outside". Not that she asks that often.

I bought one that the sticker on the front say's the Weather Channel... Got so mad I finally threw it away.. It kept picking up temp from someplace else and the time would be off by 10 minutes every 2 days.. If I try another it will be from Oregon Scientific

I put my transmitter inside of the LP gas tank compartment. It's open to the outside air on the bottom, and out of sight and protected from the elements.

We keep the transmitter in the pin box and the receiver in the bedroom. These locations work fine. These things sure eat up the batteries, it seems like I'm always changing them.

I have an older version from Oregon Scientific. Funny, I hardly ever change the batteries in the control unit or the remote sensor. It's like an air fern.
Anyway, I leave the remote sensor on the floor of the basement at the door. When I arrive somewhere, I put it on the ground against a wheel or jack, on the north side to keep it out of the sun. When I get ready to go, I pick it up and put it back in the basement
I hang the indoor unit on the wall near the door. That way, if the temperature varies from 65 - 75 degrees, I stay inside and order stuff from Camping World.

We have our outside remote inside the pin box, but sometimes I think we do get false readings from the sun heating the black metal.
