Letter from Coach-Net

To my surprise, yesterday I received a letter from Coach-Net:

"Dear Rob,

We are writing to inform you that the manufacturer of your recreational vehicle, Excel RV, has recently gone out of business and because so, is no longer able to offer you support on you RV purchase."

That seemed odd for two reasons. First it's just roadside assistance. What does that have to do with the manufacturer? Second, I called them six weeks ago to get my membership number and was assured I had coverage until 03 Sept.

The bottom line, in case someone else gets a similar letter, is the letter was send by mistake. I am in fact still covered.

Coachnet sells offers an extended warranty product that is separate from their roadside assistance product. My guess is that since they have contact info for new Excel owners (Excel contracted for the 1st year of Coachnet roadside assistance for new Excel buyers starting sometime in late 2013), and heard Excel is out of business, they were attempting to market their extended warranty product to you, and not trying to tell you your roadside assistance product had been cancelled. Sorry for the long sentence. Also, this is just a guess since I haven't seen the actual letter you reference.

I suspect you're right as the letter also included a brochure for their extended warranty.
