My factory LT235/85/R16 Load Range G tires are nearing replacement time re tread wear on my 31IKE. Should I stick with LT's or switch to ST's? Opinions are all over the map online. Did Excel decide to use LT's for a good reason?
Have also heard that many folks with other trailer brands have switched from ST's to LT's due to ST blowouts.
Maybe this has been covered already in another thread but I couldn't find it.
Thanks!

Two year old RV and replacing tires due to tread wear?
Approx how many miles ?
Tread wear worse on the rear axle , or do you have an alignment problem ?
Severe alignment problem which was fixed at 5000 miles. Long story. Approx 15,000 total miles. Tire pressure is/was regularly monitored 110 lbs. cold. Shackle bolts regularly re-torqued to 60-65 ft. lbs.

I would stay with the LT tire for sure. I assume you have a GY 614 currently. Stay with that or I've seen reviews and heard that Sailun 637 itres has been good and much more reasonable. And yes, I know they aren't made America. Either way just make sure your DOT date codes are reasonably new. I use a 6 month limit from time of manufacturer to install date. That's just me. Sometimes finding great deals on tires are because they are older tires that have grown whiskers laying around dealer stock. I physically inspect prior to installation. rockin'
